Yesterday

I hope this finds you all doing well.

I want to encourage all of you to keep plugging away. You CAN do it! I am finding that I am looking forward to each days reading. It is not always easy but it is well worth it.

Picture this.... You are gathered with your small group and in walks Balaam. He starts to tell his story. We listen with fascination and then he gets to the donkey. He loads up his donkey and heads off to see Balak. At some point the donkey sees the angel of the Lord and turns off into a field. What does Balaam do, he beats the donkey. At this point he lost all of you who are PETA fans.

They continue on and again the donkey sees the angel of the Lord in a narrow path and he moves over as far as he could and crushes Balaams foot against the wall. Another beating. The 3rd time the donkey sees the angel of the Lord he lays down under Balaam. Another beating follows.

Then Balaam does it, he tells you the donkey talked to him. Not only did the donkey talk with him but he answered the donkey. He had conversation with him. He tells the donkey that he made a fool of him. Seems to me he has to look pretty foolish talking to a donkey.

Would you believe his story at this point?

Now God opens Balaam's eyes so he could see the angel of the Lord. He now saw what the donkey saw.
